The Annunciation by Orazio Gentileschi | Canvas & Fine Art Prints

The Annunciation by Orazio Gentileschi captures the sacred moment when the Archangel Gabriel announces to the Virgin Mary that she will become the mother of Jesus Christ. Painted around 1623, this Italian Baroque masterpiece portrays the encounter with remarkable tenderness and spiritual beauty. Gabriel kneels with white lilies symbolizing purity, while a dove representing the Holy Spirit appears above.

A contemporary of Caravaggio, Gentileschi was celebrated for his refined naturalism, luminous colors, and extraordinary attention to detail. Rich crimson drapery, Mary's vibrant blue mantle, and the angel's golden robes create a striking harmony of color and light. Graceful gestures and carefully rendered fabrics give this biblical scene an intimate, deeply moving atmosphere.

Bring the timeless beauty of Italian Baroque art into your home with your choice of framed canvas, unframed canvas, or fine art matte paper. Each format showcases the painting's luminous colors and intricate details, bringing faith, history, and classical artistry to living rooms, libraries, studies, and prayer rooms.
